Hi, Kell here!

Welcome to the Work Smarter Not Harder Newsletter #72. (20s to read)

Delegation is the most talked about but underutilized tool in time management.

Far too many career minded people have a “do it all” approach. But the problem is that if you spread yourself too thin you’ll have trouble completing any of the tasks properly.

You are far better doing a great job in your most important projects (those 20 percent of activities that yield 80% of your results) and allowing someone capable to focus on the others.

Staff your weaknesses allows you to focus on those things that you do best and delegate the rest to others.

The steps to delegate are:

  1. Decide what you are going to delegate
  2. What resources are required to delegate
  3. Choose who you are going to delegate to
  4. Communicate this delegated task
  5. Monitor, track, and review the delegated task.
I talk in more detail about how to delegate.
