I used to procrastinate alot because I had mountains of things to do. I tried setting goals but often the goals were really big and I just procrastinated.
While I think goals are important what I do now is to focus on the next step. So rather than think about the 1 year plan - which often seemed so far away and, as a result, I procrastinated, now I just focus on the next step.
For example, if I have to write a 300 page report - which I just submitted (YIPPPEEE) I try to break it down into the smaller segments and focus on what I have to do today.
