Online Goal Setting Course

by Jim

Can anyone recommend an online goal setting course?

I have been setting goals but I don't think I am setting the right goals. Also, is it important to put your goals in writing?

Hi Jim,

I have helped many athletes and business people to set goals.

Goal setting generally involves putting pen-to-paper and then creating clear logical steps to achieve those goals.

There is something about articulating your goals onto paper that makes them less a wish and more a concrete strategy to achieve what you are aiming for.

In his book “Think and Grow Rich”, Napoleon Hill cited that many of the most successful people in the world, whether is in sport, academia, business, or politics right down their goals and articulate a clear way to achieve them.

Both research and my practical experience suggest bears these findings out.

However, there are many common traps that we can fall into and also several ways that increase the chances of successful goal setting.

For example it is important not to set negative goals but rather frame your goals as something that you want to move towards rather than avoid.

Another key to successful goal setting is not to set too many goals as this will spread your motivation too thin and make it difficult for you to focus on the individual goals. Rather choose to accomplish you most important ‘few goals’ rather than the many ‘lessor goals’.

Because goals are essential for success, I have developed an online goal setting course.

This course is similar to the courses that I give to elite athletes, business professionals, and students.

It is a free goal setting course that is delivered to your email.

Alternatively, I am sure if you Google 'goal setting course' you will find some other good courses around.

All the best
Kell
