time management and prioritization

I have a question about how do you prioritize things.....this is the situation. You have the phone ringing at desk and the same time a person comes at desk for some information and you also have to do an important project right away.

So how do you prioritize between the phone call and the customer as both the customers are important to you.

Bonnie's reply: The trick is not to have these three things happen at once, but rather to have planned in advance.

If you have a very important project you need to do, block out time when you are unavailable to the drop in visitor and the phone call. But let others know when you will be available. You can leave a voice message or a note on your door.
